WFW-Yes In Christ

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes in Christ. And through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” Wow this is awesome. Let me try this in Deuteronomy 28:3-13. (NLT)

You will be blessed in your towns and in the country. AMEN!

You will be blessed with many children and productive fields. You will be blessed with fertile herds and flocks. AMEN!

You will be blessed with baskets overflowing with fruit, and with kneading bowls filled with bread. AMEN!

You will be blessed wherever you go, both in coming and in going. AMEN!

The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven! AMEN!

The LORD will bless everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. AMEN!

If you obey the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways, the LORD will establish you as his holy people as he solemnly promised to do. AMEN!

Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the LORD, and they will stand in awe of you. AME!

The LORD will give you an abundance of good things in the land he swore to give your ancestors — many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. AMEN!

The LORD will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens to bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them. AMEN!

If you listen to these commands of the LORD your God and carefully obey them, the LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always have the upper hand. AMEN!

In verse 15 it says  “But if you refuse to listen to the LORD your God and do not obey all the commands and laws I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you”

Aww, there is condition for the blessings, I need to obey all the laws, that’s impossible I can never obey ALL the laws. But Paul said “Yes in Christ”, Oh yes, I got it, I’m not worthy of all these blessings, I’m not qualified. The good news is, Someone qualified me. He fulfilled the requirement of the law. He never sinned.  He is Jesus. Isn’t that wonderful. Whoaah, Hallelujah!

  1. Amen and Hallelujah! His promises are YES and AMEN. I love that you pointed out we don’t deserve it. We can’t earn it or become qualified by our own actions — OTHER THAN CHOOSING CHRIST AS SAVIOR AND LORD.

    Bless you today!

  2. How often we forget that last part…we’re happy to take but when it comes to joyful obedience, we often run the other direction. Obedience…Overwhelming, Joyful Obedience…I’m going to have this one cycling around my head all day!
