May my attitude be like

……..this every time I face trials and troubles

[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us! (Romans 8:18 AMP)

May I look and find meaning beyond the trials. May I find joy in the midst of sufferings knowing that I have inheritance reserved for me in heaven, these troubles are just temporary compared with the glory he will reveal later.

Ahh, how I pray to have an attitude like Paul. My heart is oftentimes clouded with life’s circumstances and allow them to speak louder than His promises.

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] (John 16:33 AMP)

Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] (John 14:27 AMP)

Don’t let me lose sight of You, Lord, may I remember to renew my mind everyday and let your promises refresh me. May I not be intimidated with my circumstances. May I allow your peace to reign in my heart instead of worries, to stop doubt from ministering to me, may I bathe my mind with your Word.

In My Desperation…

In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles. Psalm 34:6

Father help me to focus my heart and thoughts to you and in you alone. Calm my mind and help me to concentrate and listen to your voice. I cannot do it alone. Let me hear you and you alone

In me there is darkness but with you there is light. In me there is restlessness but with you there is peace.
In me there is loneliness but with you there is fullness of joy
In me there is helplessness but with you there is strength.
In me there is hastiness but with you there is patience.
In me there is foolishness but with you there is wisdom.
In me there is doubtfulness but with you there is faith.
In me there is bitterness but with you there is love.
In me there is selfishness but with you there is freedom.
In me there is limitation but with you everything is possible.
In me there is greediness but with you there is satisfaction.
I don’t understand your ways but you know the way for me and that way is perfect.

Oh Father, Restore me the liberty and enable me to live one day at a time. And whatever this day may bring. May I always glorify you.

Amen!

Thankful Thursday

It’s almost two years now since we decided to stay here, after getting married we moved here with lots of hope, plans and dreams. I feel like for two years though, we did so little especially in the ministry, but honestly we’ve grown so much in our spiritual life. It’s during this time that the Lord became too personal, so close, so real and true to us. He became our Pastor, our Mentor, our Teacher. We have limited access to Christian books, teaching devotionals, teaching CDs or DVDs, Christian shows on TV, etc. Our bible is our constant companion when we want to read books other than ‘our bible”, what I am trying to say is, I have never read my bible the way I read it now. I thank the Lord for the gift of time.

Oh from time to time we feel discouraged, we do have disappointments, have so many questions that remained unanswered. Well, instead of forcing God to answer our questions or struggling with the things we do not know, we decided to just leave everything to Him. I remember the road to Emmaus experience, the two disciples failed to recognize Jesus, only after explaining everything and when He broke a piece of bread that their eyes were opened. Maybe when they realized that they were talking with Jesus, they wanted to ask more questions but the moment they recognized Him, He suddenly disappeared from their sight. They wanted to ask few more questions but instead they had to trust what they had received from Him.

Oh Lord thank you for making me realize that I don’t have all the brains to solve or answer everything, thank you for trusting me with the things I know and whatever I receive right now I trust you with that. Thank you for the things I do not know and for not answering all my pleas, it makes me live by faith and long for you more and more. Thank you for my unlimited knowledge, I am overwhelmed  every time you reveal something. Thank you for you are my “GOD” and I am just your creation.

WFW-Called According To His Purpose

Photobucket

Note: I grabbed the picture  from my friend’s FB

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NASB)

It’s 2011, last year was a year of waiting and waiting and waiting, it’s also a year of resting, a year of planning and a year of favor from the Lord.  There are prayers and questions that remained unanswered until now, plans that never happened, things that I couldn’t understand. There were good and bad things happened, we cried, we laughed, we worried, we doubted, we hoped. Last year was indeed full of surprises and challenges but the Father sustained us all through the year.

This verse reminded me that I do not have to know or understand everything and that God works in everything whether good or evil. This does not mean that He rejoices in evil but He is able to turn everything for our good. I’ve come to realize that God is not working to make me feel good or to make me happy but He is working to fulfill His purpose that I may have joy in everything.  When life seems tough and  everything seems like going against me, this is the verse that i lean on and the promise that  keeps me going.

WFW is not about books, authors, artists.. it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word. Join us here.

Then Sings My Soul Saturday-You are God Alone

The world is in crisis today. Everyone is affected; I was thinking about these things few days ago, but God reminded me of what He said to Moises in Exodus 8:23, that He will make a distinction between His people and Pharaoh’s people. I do admit sometimes i felt affected with what is happening, but God constantly reminding me of His word. Just like what He said in Romans 8:31b “if God is for me who can be against me.”

The world maybe crumbling, but my God will surely provide all my needs. The psalmist said I have been young and now am old yet i have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.

In times like this, let’s look for our heavenly Father; because He is for us at this present moment, we can be confident that He will help us. Remember He sent His Son Jesus Christ and when we accepted Him, He gave us the right to have an abundant life. So we can be at peace and filled with joy even when the economy is going down.

Our God is not affected by financial crisis, He is unshakable.

Our God is not affected by the World recession, He is unstoppable, and He can bless His people even in the midst of drought.

Our God is not affected by the changes, He is unchangeable.

Rest my friend in God’s love and faithfulness.

You are not a God

Created by human hands
You are not a God
Dependant on any mortal man
You are not a God
In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that’s just the way it is

You are God alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
You are God alone
And right now
In the good times and bad
You were on the throne
You are God alone

You’re the only God
Whose power none can contend
You’re the only God
Whose name and praise will never end
You’re the only God
Who’s worthy of everything we can give
You are God
And that’s just the way it is

Unchangeable
Unshakable
Unstoppable
That’s what You are

It's a Shame!

A couple of days ago I was battling with fears and worries, negative thoughts were bombarding my mind, I knew it’s just the attack of the enemy and not really healthy to feel that way. These feelings stole my joy, peace and even my strength both spiritually and physically. If we let these things master us, it will overwhelm us with doubts, insecurity and soon destroy our relationship with others and with the Lord.

Rather than digesting all those negative thoughts, I did what Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:6-8.

Instead of being anxious I prayed and I made known to God the fears and worries that I have and instead of grumbling I thank and praise Him for everything that he’s doing in our life. And whatever is true, honorable, pure, lovely and of good refute I dwell on those things. As I started to meditate His goodness in my life, he reminded me of His greatness, of his sovereignty, of his grace, his mercy and love. And I was blown away by his faithfulness in my life. (Sigh) how shameful it is to doubt the love of Christ for me.

I am now in my day 21 of my 90 day bible reading challenge

Finally these are the photos that I want to share. The pictures were taken last December when we visited Guilin, the city is situated in the northeast part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Tourism is the main source of income of the city that’s why all the tourist attractions have entrance fee.

inside the seven star caves

camel shape rock

the famous Li River

This is just one of the streams that we saw in park, we’re not sure if the streams are natural or just man-made, we saw a lot of big pipes, we thought the water might be coming there

on top of the hill

pagodas in fir lake

The food is one thing i want to try everytime i visit new plances. We visited a guilinese restaurant,we saw a lot of people eating there, we thought, it might be a good restaurant but the food were not really good or maybe we didn’t pick the right one. Guilinesse people love spicy food.

OUR DISAPPOINTMENTS MATTER TO GOD

I was talking to a friend yesterday, were talking about his ministry, we’re talking about some of his disappointments in life. Does he really in the center of God’s will?

I do also have disappointments in life. Many questions that until now remained unanswered, But we came to a conclusion to just leave everything to God.

I remember the Road to Emmaus experience. The two disciples failed to recognize JEsus Christ only after explaining everything and when Jesus Christ broke a piece of bread that their eyes are opened. I believed the disciples wanted to ask more questions but the moment that they recognized Him, he suddenly disappeared from their sight. They wanted to ask a few more questions, but instead they had to trust what they had received from him already. Whatever we received right now trust God with that. Remember that we don’t have all the brains to solve everything.

Sometimes we asked ourselves if we are really in the center of God’s will especially if we are experiencing hard times, persecutions, struggles. But Jesus did experience every thing that a human being can possibly experience, disappointments, rejection, struggle from obeying the will of the Father, tempted by Satan, yet never gave in. If you look at the Calvary it’s hard to believe that He was in the Center of God’s will yet when Jesus Christ cried “My God, my God why have you forsaken me” We know very well that He is in the center of the Father’s will.

We must see our pains our disappointments, our problems through the eyes of Jesus.

I’ve read this bible commentary on Psalms 23

“The Lord is my shepherd”: that’s relationship.

“I shall not want”: that’s supply.

“He makes me to lie down in green pastures”: that’s rest.

“He leads me beside still waters”: that’s refreshment.

“He restores my soul”: that’s healing.

“He guides me in the paths of righteousness”: that’s guidance.

“For his name’s sake”: that’s purpose.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death”: that’s testing.

“I will fear no evil”: that’s protection.

“For you are with me”: that’s faithfulness.

“Your rod and your staff, they comfort me”: that’s discipline.

“You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies”: that’s hope.

“You anoint my head with oil”: that’s consecration.

“My cup overflows”: that’s abundance.

“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life”: that’s blessing.

“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord”: that’s security.

We have a Shepherd who leads us through, who takes care of us. Our disappointments, our problems our questions do matter. We may be in our deep deep valleys but I’m one hundred percent sure that our Shepherd is with us.

Be well my friend
