Washing of the Feet

IMG_0656
Ahh…what an amazing verse, a picture of humility, grace, forgiveness and mercy. The Lord who washed His disciples feet, such a humbling act.

A Teacher who washed His disciples feet. A Master who did the work of the lowliest servant. If there’s one person in the room who was worthy of having his feet washed it was Him. That’s humility.

He knew that Peter will deny Him, He knew that Judas will betray Him, He knew so well that the rest will abandon Him, they were not worthy of having their feet washed still The Lord did it anyway. That’s grace.

He knew what these men were about to do, yet He forgave them even before they committed it. He offered mercy before they even sought it.

It is easy to wash other’s feet but extending grace and forgiving others especially those who wronged me is quite hard to do. Humbling myself to others even if I didn’t do anything wrong is not easy.

Oftentimes I think like this ” I didn’t do anything wrong, this person hurt me” neither Jesus, the one who’s worthy of being served, served others. The one who was innocent, bore my sins and died for me. He extended grace towards me, He forgave my sins and died for me. Yes I ought to do that to others.

If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do [in your turn] what I have done to you. (John 13:14, 15 AMP)

Lord, your heart is truly amazing, You’ve asked me to do the same. It may seem hard, it is actually hard. However you made it possible. May you give me the willingness to forgive and extend grace to others.

Word Filled Wednesday-1 Peter 4:8

How can you prove God to someone who doesn’t believe in the bible? What is the visible thing that people can see in your life that makes them consider and think that what you believe might be the right one? It’s LOVE, they may not believe the bible but if they can see and feel the love you have for them, you may bring them to Christ.

I’ve read about Christians who suffered persecutions, they were tortured, imprisoned, beaten yet they were able to love their persecutors. Because of the love they have shown, many believed in Jesus Christ, they were able to bring to Christ their torturers.

“A flower if you bruise it under your feet, rewards you by giving you its perfume, likewise Christians tortured by the Communists, rewarded their torturers by love. We brought many of our jailers to Christ. And we are dominated by one desire, to give communists who have made us suffer the best we have, the salvation which comes from our Jesus Christ” Richard Wumbrand-Founder of the Voice of the Martyrs. Spent fourteen years in a Communist Prison in Romania-1940,’50s ‘60s

But how can we love others if we cannot even love our brothers and sisters in Christ?

Father, may you fill me with your love that I may love others, let me love even when it hurts, let me love even when I don’t understand, let me love even when I don’t feel like loving, let me love even when it’s not reciprocated.

1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sin”

Word Filled Wednesday-His Love is Immutable

Manila, Philippines

Love, love, love, love, the most powerful word. It is because of this LOVE that God sent His one and only Son to die for my our sins. Because of this love, God can forgive our sins if we acknowledge and accept His Son.

The God that our worshiping is love, He is love. He sacrificed His Son for our sins, Christians knew that, but sad to say that many of us have limited understanding of His love. I remember a song, “Jesus loves me, Jesus loves, Jesus loves me, the bible tells me so” Yes Jesus loves us, but are we really living under His love or are we still living in condemnation, fear, guilt and doubt.

We have a lot of baggage. But I am still messing up, but I am not sure that He has forgiven me already, but I really don’t know if I am pleasing Him, I did a terrible sins in the past and until now those sins keep on haunting me.

The sad thing for us sometimes is, God has been forgiven us a long time ago, but until now we are still condemning ourselves or allowing the enemy to condemn us. The enemy’s work is to steal and kill, steal and kill the joy of salvation that God gave us.

Hey, get up and declare to the whole world that the God that you’re serving is a God who liberates, and not someone who makes you slave of all these things. You are loved. You can never do anything for Him to love you more or love you less.

If you can fully understand His love for you, that love will motivate you, will lead you, will drive you to hate your sins and that will make you a free man.

He loves you, just as you are.

Then Sings my Soul Saturday-By Your Side

Maybe we still have this feeling of condemnation even after becoming a Christian for so many years,  maybe until now we are still trying to be good enough to earn grace and his forgiveness, maybe we’ve been trying hard to perform to earn His love, maybe we’ve been doubting His love for us or maybe because of the sins we have committed in the past we still have this thought, how can He ever forgive the sins i have committed.

Remember this,  Christ died for the unworthy, He died for us, when we were still sinners. God loves us for who we are not for what we can do for Him. The Father’s love for us is unconditional. We may fail and mess up. But He can still accept us and love us.  His radical love drives us to love Him more, hate our sins and follow Him.

Listen to this song from Tenth Avenue North, this might be you, i hope and pray that this song will minister to you.

Why are you striving these days
Why are you trying to earn grace
Why are you crying
Let me lift up your face
Just don’t turn away

Why are you looking for love
Why are you still searching as if I’m not enough
To where will you go child
Tell me where will you run
To where will you run

And I’ll be by your side
Wherever you fall
In the dead of night
Whenever you call
And please don’t fight
These hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

Look at these hands and my side
They swallowed the grave on that night
When I drank the world’s sin
So I could carry you in
And give you life
I want to give you life

Cause I, I love you
I want you to know
That I, I love you
I’ll never let you go

May you have a blessed weekend!

It’s a Choice

I decided to love even when I am hurting.  I decided to understand even when I don’t understand, I decided to forgive even when I haven’t done anything wrong.  I decided to listen even when another is speaking. I decided to overlook petty faults and forgive all failures. I decided to value others not with what they do but for who they are. I decided to give without expect something in return.  I decided to serve and not to demand. Today I decided to love unconditionally.  After all loving someone is a choice.

Pregnancy update:

My greatest fear is happening now, I am big now 🙂 and it seems like i am growing faster every day. Lately i notice some achiness in my lower abdomen and a brief stubbing pain on both sides. I am starting to see darkened spots in my skin particularly in my neck. My feet are also getting big, from size five, I think it’s six now. I’m also having an acne breakout.
