Brokenness, the more I feel and see how broken I am, the more I cling to The Lord.

A gentle reminder from Him to live for the present and not for the future.

The gift of “now” reminding myself to live in the present is somehow giving me peace and rest.

Grace, everyday is grace from God, no matter how imperfect life may be, my ability to go through with life is grace from Him

My mess, shouting at my children, trying to manipulate them, choosing anger instead of understanding.  I’m not proud of those, yes Lord I need you more, and thank You for changing me each day.

Thank You for allowing me to grow as a mother to my children and wife to my husband.

Thank you Holy Spirit for rebuking me and allowing me to repent. Remind me always not to do it again and if ever I slip again, may you not get tired of pulling me up. May you soften my heart that I may repent hastily

Thankful for the rain, it seldom rains here.

Thankful for the air was good  and we were able to go out.

Today the weather isn’t that hot, I’m thankful for that.

Thankful for the book I’m reading “Letters to Young Pastor” by Calvin Miller

Thankful for the coffee every day.

Unwise Servant

IMG_1505Another came, saying ‘Master, here is your mina, which I kept put away in a handkerchief; for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’ Luke 19:20-21

I don’t want to make the graveyard wealthy by not utilizing my gifts. I may feel inadequate sometimes, I may feel like I don’t have gifts or talents at all but I believe God has given me enough to share. It may not be as spectaculars as others. I don’t want to bury it out of fear and insecurity just like the unwise servant.

Father my prayer today is, may you show me the skills, gifts or talents you’ve given me. I may need to develop them or need to be invested in order for them to mature. May you open doors or opportunities for me to use, develop or invest them. I want to utilize anything that you’ve given me to glorify your name.  Amen

Thankful when the children are playing and sleeping, oh how I need quietness, I feel refreshed and energized when the house is quite. This is my “me” time, thinking, reflecting and meditating.

Thankful for the people who mentored me from afar, I read their books and blog, Frank Viola, Max Lucado and Phillip Yancey.

Thankful for the weather, it’s not too hot today. The air is good as well

Thankful for the book I’m reading “When Will My Life not Suck”

Thankful for I have time to read books.

Thankful that I can be with my children for this season of their life, watching them, taking care of their needs.

Thankful for the songs I’m listening, it quiets my soul.

Thankful for a sister who is generous.

Meeting relatives before leaving.

Dining out for free, the owner of the restaurant didn’t charge us and the food was  wonderful.

Missing the Main Point of our Faith

There are so many things that vie for our attention that we lose sight of God. I’m not talking about the cares of this life, I’m speaking of the spiritual things. We talk too much about doctrines, church multiplication, God’s mission, giving, gifts of the Holy Spirit. We are too busy with the things of God, unknowingly we are losing Christ.

We talk about church multiplication, but never mention Jesus Christ. We preach holiness but failed to present Christ as our holiness. We preach righteousness but failed to mention Christ as our righteousness. We talk about blessing but failed to remind the Church that Christ Himself is our great blessing. We are passionately pursuing the things of God, without realizing we are putting other things on the throne (religious, spiritual things) and let Christ sit on the floor. And we wonder why we couldn’t see Christ move in the Church

This reminds me of the story of Zaccheus and the young rich guy who questioned Jesus Christ on how to be saved. He failed to see Jesus as Savior. He wanted salvation but never seek the Savior. He wanted an answer but not the teacher.

Zaccheus however, did everything just to gaze at Jesus Christ. He risk whatever he had to see Jesus Christ and the Lord rewarded him. Jesus Christ dined with him, conversed with him and revealed Himself to him.

We maybe rewarded with knowledge when we pursue the things of God, there is more than knowledge though, Christ, He wants to reveal Himself to us. May we not miss the main point of our faith which is Christ alone by pursuing the spiritual things.

Hebrew 11:6b “he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him”

Thankful for the washer 

AC finally summer has arrived

 Visit in the park

 Seeing my children’s excitement every time we go out.

 The happiness I can see in my children’s face when they play with their father.

 Thankful for the food here, I will surely miss them when we move to the Philippines.

 Roasted duck, I love it.

 Lamb, love the taste.

Bountiful supply of fruits like Cherries, Water melon, Apricot etc, etc. they’re pretty cheap here.

 Listening to my 22 month daughter talking, she’s funny.

 An inquisitive 3-year-old daughter

 A husband who is wise in handling money.

 Thankful fur the household chores, they are my therapy

I’m in the process of learning and mastering contentment, I’m thankful for that, I desire to be what Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

The grace to live each day.

Ability to taste food

Ability to talk

Ability to hear.

Ability to feel

Ability to see.

Ability to walk.

Living a simple life, fewer worries, less expenses, less stress, more time for the family.

 Thankful for we are not paying rent.

Mother-in-law who allows us to stay with her.

Kiddos that are bilingual

For the tight budget and because of that we rarely eat junk food. We couldn’t afford to waste our money with those junk food. No sodas, fast food, processed food,  sweets, etc.

Thankful that our children are somehow eating vegetables like broccoli, mushroom, etc.

Kiddos who love to eat fruits.

Thankful that I can still exclusively breastfeed my 22 months old daughter.

The simple joy of watching The Mentalist Season 6.

Eating healthy food.

I’m staying at home mom, I’m thankful for that.

The continual growth that I go through as a Mother

Thankful that we can still access Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and other sites that are blocked.

Simple life.

New mercies every morning

An extra-large bed that  allows us to co-sleep with our children

 Internet, we might not have this unlimited access when we move to the Philippines.

Life has been challenging lately, thankful for His grace and strength.

 Psalm 107:1, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

We’re Moving…..again

“Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.” So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel. (Matthew 2:20, 21 NASB)

Joseph obeyed God even when he couldn’t understand, he obeyed God even when he didn’t know everything, he obeyed even that means losing everything, his source of income, his business. He obeyed without questioning God. He obeyed even when his reputation was at stake.

As what Max Lucado wrote in his book “He was obedient when the sky was bright.He was obedient when the sky was dark.He didn’t let his confusion disrupt his obedience. He didn’t know everything. But he did what he knew. He shut down his business, packed up his family and went to another country . Why? Because God told him”.

We’re moving to the Philippines next month, unlike Joseph we haven’t heard anything from God or dreamt about this. It’s a major decision and I’m not sure though if it’s wise to move to the Philippines. We prayed for this, we prayed for years.

Our current situation seems telling us to move. We have plans, we have dreams, we know however, it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. In case God wants to change our plans, we will not fight or resist. We are more than willing if He does.

This journey might be smooth sailing or bumpy. We don’t know what will happen to us in the Philippines. We just hold on to his promise that He is with us.  And if ever we made the wrong decision, if ever our judgement was wrong. His sovereign will is so grand that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him. We know that He will still usher  and lead us through. God knows our hearts, we want so much do His will.

Counting my Blessings!

Couple of months ago I taught my 3-year-old how to read using the book Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons. We were able to finish the book in a month, I am thankful for her patience and her willingness to learn, she loves learning and reading.

My husband hasn’t been working since November, I am constantly amazed of how our needs are being met. It’s amazing, I even stop worrying. I am more at peace now than when he was still working. Yes, I can honestly say  we have everything we need. The Lord is good, faithful and true.

The simple joy of drinking coffee.

Thankful for the clean air lately, we were able to go out.

The smell of my two babies, I love smelling them. It’s therapeutic

Giggling and laughing from my two daughters.

The joy it gives me while watching my two daughters ages 39 and 22 months conversing with each other. They speak Chinese and I have no clue what they’re talking about.

Thankful for my husband’s cooking.

Thankful for these promises from The Lord.

The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the Lord of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ declares the Lord of hosts.” (Haggai 2:8, 9 NASB)

For the lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NLT)
